The release of movies like Avengers, Spiderman and Batman is a real testament to the popularity of comic books. 0 WebSnap: Capture Selective Or Full Websites & View Them In A Live Widget [Android]

With the previously reviewed SnowDeer Web Scrapper, we have already seen how to effectively capture snapshots of an entire webpage on Android. Though quite helpful in its own respect, said tool was effective only in situations that demanded grabbing snapshots of the complete page. What if you were to capture a specific area or elements of the required website? New to the Play Store, WebSnap is a promising Android app that makes capturing select parts of any webpage as easy as one-two-three. Just like SnowDeer, WebSnap comes with a built-in browser that you can use to explore and capture virtually any part of the required website. It also supports UA String selection to help you quickly switch between mobile and desktop layout of the current website. In addition, it provides easy-to-use navigation controls, supports pinch-to-zoom gestures, and lets you natively manage, preview and share your snapshots. All aforementioned features aside, the mainstay of WebSnap remains its nifty little dynamic homescreen widget that not only sports the captured view of your preferred website, but can also be set to automatically update as per user-defined intervals.

0 Create Short Movies Out Of Music, Photos & Videos On Your iPhone

Photo sharing has really become popular among iOS users, thanks to services like Instagram, but there are still new apps coming out in the App Store that bring a whole new dimension to this genre of apps.Ptch is one such iPhone app that has been designed to let users share media after editing it, but rather than focusing on just photos, the app incorporates music, photos and videos into one short movie (called a “ptch”). You can apply a number of artistic effects to any ptch, and the media used to create it can be pulled from any of your social network accounts or the camera roll of your iDevice. In addition to having a sharing network of its own, the Ptch app lets users publish content to Facebook, Twitter, Viddy and a number of other similar services. Apart from that, if a shared ptch is public, users can re-share it after making changes of their own, too.

0 ClockWind: Make Your iPhone Seem Faster By Speeding Up UI Animations

If you have a lot of Cydia tweaks and apps installed on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, your device is bound to start getting a little slow after some time. Mostly, the reason behind this lag is nothing really serious, and you can pin the problem down to something as simple as UI animations taking longer than usual to load, giving the appearance that your iPhone’s performance has diminished. So, even if you can put your finger on the problem, is there any possible way you can fix it? Well, maybe you can’t, but a 12 year old Cydia developer, iHackerMe, has certainly come up with a rather neat solution for these lagging animations. ClockWind is an awesome tweak (specially for older iOS devices), using which you will be able to control the speed of all system UI animations in iOS. The end result is that your iPhone will appear to be working faster, as less time will be spent on animations, and you will be taken to your desired OS destination in the blink of an eye.

0 How To Get Jelly Bean Style Makeover & Features On Any Android Device

At Google I/O 2012, not only was the world introduced to Nexus 7 – the first ever Android tablet in the Nexus series – but the event also brought with it the announcement of the latest iteration of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. As it turned out, not even the most die-hard Android fanboys had anticipated the goodies that Big G had up their sleeves for the latest version of Android, especially considering that it saw the version number of the OS leap by a mere 0.1 points from its predecessor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the fact of the matter remains that Jelly Bean is hands down the fastest, smoothest, safest and most user-friendly version of Android to have arrived to date. Ranging from the knowledge-powered Google Now to a better predictive keyboard and expandable notifications to auto adjustable widgets, there are dozens of innovative features in Jelly Bean to look forward to. However, as long as you can manage to go through our detailed post covering the most noteworthy features of Jelly Bean, we won’t be required to do a Déjà vu here, since this particular post focuses on the apps and mods that can help you get the taste of Jelly Bean on almost any Android device.

0 Set Mobile Safari’s Default Search Engine To Wolfram Alpha, Baidu, Yandex & Others

A few months back, we covered a rather complicated method for adding more options to the list of default search engines in Safari for iOS. While that method (involving iFile and file system editing) still works perfectly, the margin for error in it is very little. One wrong entry in the registry, and you might end up rendering your iPhone’s Safari completely unusable (I landed my iPhone in that condition doing that, so that’s personal experience right there). So, it was about time some clever developer came up with a one-touch solution for this issue. SearchEnable is a new tweak that automatically adds 8 new search engines to Safari’s stock list, which natively includes only Google, Yahoo and Bing. Of course, you cannot add a search engine of your choice to the list using this Cydia tweak, but the offered options should prove to be sufficient for most people.

0 Manage Your Delicious Tags & Bookmarks With Droidicious For Android

Social bookmarking and bookmark sharing web services are gradually increasing with the increase in the overall usage of the internet, and the competition in this regard is certainly heating up at a matching pace. When talking of some quality services belonging to said genre, Reddit, Digg and StumbleUpon are a few names that instantly pop up in one’s mind, but above all, there is Delicious (aka del.icio.us) – an innovative web service that focuses solely on letting users store, share and explore tag-laden bookmarks pertaining to virtually every topic that exists in the wide world of web. Quite surprisingly, the service doesn’t yet support a companion app that can help users access their Delicious content right from their mobile devices. That said, there are quite a few third-party Delicious apps available to Android users that try to fill the void, but none of them is known to be offering the complete set of Delicious goodies. Adding to the list of candidates is Droidicious, another promising unofficial Delicious client with some much sought-after features; the most noteworthy of which remains remote access to, and sync with, your Delicious account, a beautifully and smartly designed Holo-themed UI with full support for Android tablets, and a plethora of customary Delicious features that will certainly make your social bookmarking experience on Android more enhanced, fun and thorough.

The app is just another iOS music player on the surface, but once you start using it, Groove will take care of just about everything that has got anything to do with your iPhone or iPad’s music library. 0 Google Handwrite: Enter Search Queries By Scribbling On Your Smartphone

After yesterday’s GTalk outage, Google appears to be on a roll today. In addition to the huge Google Earth update for iOS, Handwrite has also been unveiled a few hours ago. Handwrite is not an app, it is just a feature that has been added to Google’s web interface for smartphones. For now, Handwrite supports iOS and Android devices, and if you enable it on your phone, you will be able to write your queries in the search engine rather than typing them. This use of freehand scribbling certainly improves the time in which you can search for a particular keyword, and is more convenient than typing. If you are already making up your mind about Handwrite and all its potential downsides (not the least of which is the fact that people will have trouble entering longer queries), then wait a little more and read the rest of the article. Google has thought of just about everything.
